I got a new PC from my Dad yesterday. Well, not new, it was another one of his custom jobs using old parts. Well I asked my good friend DanFox to come by and help me get it set up the way I want it, we used parts from my media PC (the one my brother gave me a while back) and another old custom job Dad sent me ages ago which had broken down. We used the motherboard of the new one, the 1tb hard drive I bought for the mediabox, the graphics cards from the new one and old one, the new sound card Dad sent with the new machine, the power supply I had bought for the old PC and the RAM from the media PC.
The result: Nothing. It wouldn't boot up and we didn't even get any beeps. Apparently the motherboard is buggered, most likely damaged by the ever unreliable couriers, and the motherboards from the other machines are buggered too.
You know what? I've bloody well had it with these crappy hand-me-downs and custom jobs. I need a NEW PC! Up-to-date and store-bought! I haven't the money for one now, so right now I'll have to survive without a computer at all...
I fucking hate my life. |

Okay, so here's how it is... I am rather low on money, so I'm trying to decide what stuff I have I can actually make money out of. I don't want to sell absolutely everything I have, but there's a fair few things here I could do with letting go of. So here I am making a list of all my possessions that I'm willing to part with.

Current Mood: Pissed off Current Music: Nothing, because my sound card has just now died!
I am having a really bad day. I've been getting frustrated over my inability to save money. I've been feeling lonely due to lack of girl/boyfriend and I don't see my friends as often as I'd like. I'm still getting nowhere on the job hunt! I seem to be inadvertently offending certain people on StC-O. My computer is still buggering up, and it's getting a lot worse now. I seem to have completely lost sound on this thing! Why is all this shit happening to me? |

Current Mood - Tired Current Music - Doctor Who Theme (2005 Album Version)
*sigh* I've been missing roleplay for the last couple of weeks. No Vampire due to Sian's back troubles and we barely have any players as is. No DnD due to Luke adjusting to his new job. The way things are going, it looks like both my roleplay nights are going to be canceled. Maybe I'm overreacting, but in any case, there is still hope.
A couple of days back I visited the Games Workshop in Bournemouth, and the guy in the shop actually showed me how to play Warhammer 40k. I was actually beating him as well. Couldn't finish the game as I had places to be but now that I have a better understanding of the game, I wouldn't mind getting into it. Unfortunately Warhammer model sets aren't cheap, and to be honest, I really don't want to have to fork out all that cash for models only to ruin them when I practice painting them.
But one day I would like to play the game properly. I know Greg plays the game and I think Luke does too, so maybe they can teach me all the subtleties of the game and so on. |

Current Mood: Depressed Current Music: Ayumi Hamasaki - Unite! (Euro-Power Mix)
I've had a bit of a tough week. My depression's been setting in again, and it feels so hard to shake. Yesterday was really bad, I started thinking about suicide again. Stupid brain! Don't make me think about that stuff! BAD BRAIN! Not feeling quite so bad now. I just hope it doesn't spike up again tomorrow. Going to a furmeet in Southampton tomorrow. That should help, being surrounded by friends, some of which have dealt with depression themselves.
Speaking of friends, I wonder about my friends closer to home. My brother goes to work in Southampton now, so I wonder what that means for our DnD group? Andy's character is the biggest contributor to our party's progress, so if he can't be bothered to play after a long day at work AND/OR he can't get home at a decent time anymore, does that mean our game is closing? That will suck immensely if it does. |

FINALLY! I have a working computer and I'm back on the 'net at home! :D
Andy and Laura had decided to buy a new mediabox to replace their somewhat defective one. Well, it's not so defective that I can't make use of it, so I've taken it off their hands and saved myself some money. I still had to buy my own hard drive, but hey, still a good deal. :3 At last, no more net cafes or libraries, I AM FREEEE!!! XD |

Current Mood: Sad Current Music: Omi Minami - Let Me Be Your Number One
It's been a tough week, but next week I can begin anew. Wednesday was Nan's funeral, it went all right as far as the family was concerned. It's what Nan would've liked, we sang her favourite hymns, the vicar was a nice guy and was generally concerned for everyone and was genuinely upset about Nan's passing.
Well, after the service, we all convened at this nice pub called the Scrawny Little Fox (I think that's what it was called). I mingled with my cousins who I haven't seen for years and we all had sandwiches, cake and drinks. Not much went on for the rest of the day, we all headed back to Southampton, had more drinks at my cousin Lee's pub where I met his wife and kids. And then the next day Uncle Brian took me and Mum home and I quickly got back into my routine of jobseeking and spending several hours watching Scrubs.
In other news, I will be getting a new computer soon. It seems that Mum has saved up a fair bit of money, which she has in fact been saving for me (I know you're not ever gonna read this, but thanks Mum!). Well, I've been handed a cheque and once it clears I will be going 'puter huntin'. Hopefully I can get Andy or Luke or somebody to help me find a good deal. And I want Linux on my new PC too, I've had enough of trying in vain to reinforce Windows against its own crappiness and the many MANY viruses swarming the web. So yeah, Linux is the way to go! I've already made some preparations for my new compy, I've cleaned up my room and left my old computer to rust outside my front door unless someone decides to make off with any parts they think they can fix and use. Except the hard drives, I binned those.
Well, see ya! Really, really soon! ^_^ |

My nan's funeral is tomorrow.
My mum and I are currently in Hythe staying with my auntie Jan. We're heading off to Worthing tomorrow with the rest of the family since that's where it's all taking place. It's where Nan lived all her life apart from the last two or three years. We're not expecting that big of a turn-out actually, though it will be nice to see all my cousins who I haven't seen for so many years. I wish it were under happier circumstances, though. |

| Devo's After-Report: MCM Expo May 2009 |
|
|
| 12:03pm 26/05/2009 |
| |
Best expo I've been to, for sure. I was somewhat nervous about bunking with a fur I've never met before, but Taya's one of the most awesome people I've had the pleasure to meet. It was good seeing Vaise again too, and so soon after the last meet.
Friday: I woke up around 7-ish, I was rather excited and eager to get going. I had packed my spare clothes the previous night and only had some toiletries to pack. I still forgot about someof them though, I didn't take any shower gel or shampoo, or a towel. Luckily the hotel provided towels, but I had to go without the other stuff. Vaise and Taya weren't due to get the train to London untill 12.55, but I had got on an earlier train at Branksome. So I decided to stop at Southampton and wait for them. When they turned up, they brought two non-furs in tow, a nice couple called Rich and Stef. After we all boarded the train we mostly chatted about games and such, and I tried to do a little manga doodle of Vaise (which wasn't too bad, considering the train was shaking all about). When we arrived at Waterloo the five of us met up with Tam (or Tan? I forget cos I'm silly ) and we made our journey to the Travelodge we'd be staying at. A lot of train-hopping ensued of course. After all, this is London. When we finally got there and got settled into our rooms, we decided to find our way to the ExCeL centre. Luckily it was within walking distance, though when we first walked there we kind of took the long way. We ended up going in a circle before we actually got on track. We headed back a few minutes after finding it, getting ice cream and snacks on the way back. We didn't really do anything after getting back, we pretty much settled down for the night. Or at least we tried to, I think we were all a bit too excited to sleep properly. Though apparently Vaise couldn't sleep because I was snoring. Hah, tommyrot, I say! XP
Saturday: The big day . We got up about 5 or 6 something in the morning. After being grilled by Vaise and Taya regarding my so-called snoring (which I still think is a crock), we got cleaned up and dressed for the expo. Vaise was cosplaying as Link and Taya as Princess Zora. I wasn't cosplaying but I made sure to take plenty of photos (which I can't upload at present, but I will as soon as possible). Rich and Stef were cosplaying as Sousuke and Melissa from Full Metal Panic. After getting prepped, we bussed down to the Expo hall (since a free rail replacement bus happened to be outside the Travelodge). Everyone else had fasttrack tickets to get in sooner, but I had to wait in line to buy my ticket and then get in line to get inside. Ugh, so frustrating! My legs were aching, I was growing impatient, and there were some idiots behind me who kept on shouting "BUTT SCRATCHER!!" for no apparent reason. Ass-hats. Ah well... After I finally got inside, i quickly went about buying up half the expo hall XD. The first table I went to, i bought a Kirby plushie for £20. It's awesome! I snuggle up to it every night now, heehee! x3 I bought various other bits, which I'll go into detail about later. I moseyed about the hall for some time taking in the sites, though I really wanted to play Brawl and Street Fighter with the folks on the gaming table. It was pretty crowded though, so I never got the chance. After buzzing around the hall for a while, I rendezvoused with the others outside. Man it heats up quick in that hall, not that outside was much different. The sun was out in full force and we were all being threatened with heat stroke. I feel so sorry for those cosplayers who wore the thicker costumes. Anyway, we went back in after a while, and I bought more stuff and caught the interview with Linda Hamilton (well, some of it). Eventually I ran into Myou and other furs whose names I don't remember (But i love you all the same, guys. Really! ^^ and also I ran into my friend Dan, one of my more local, non-fur friends. I found out he was staying at the same Travelodge I was, though I didn't go to see him. Well, after a fair few hours of browsing, shopping, chatting with furs and taking lots of pictures, we all got tired and headed back to the hotel. After a short nap, we got ready to go out again for Myou's little furmeet. We all got our tube tickets and we made our way to Leicester Square, where we had dinner at this nice little Japanese restaurant. I'd never had Japanese food before, except a couple of bits of sushi, which I hated. Anyway, I decided to try the pork ramen, it was yummy! THIS IS DELICIOUS! YES! YES! XD I forget what everyone else had, but dinner was good overall, and not too expensive. Things became a little problematic after dinner, however. We left the restaurant and walked to Piccadilly Circus, where half our group wandered off. The remaining half went into the Trocadero so we could regroup with the others. We didn't really do anything while we waited, well Tam had a go on the DDR machine. I WOULD have played pinball if I had found a table. After about 45 minutes of waiting around and being bored, we all gathered again and set off. Unfortunately, it was about this time that we discovered the Jubilee and DLR lines had closed, making getting back to our hotels somewhat of a challenge. After faffing around for a while, we managed to find a DLR train that would take us halfway to where we needed to go, and from All Saints we got cabs to our respective hotels. It was about 1-ish by that time, so we were fucking knackered when we got back. You'd think after all that we'd have gotten up a little later. But oh no...
Sunday: And then came the last day. We got up around 6 again, and this time Taya and Vaise didn't complain about me snoring, thankfully. When we returned to the Expo, I once again stood alone in the ticket line whilst the others went and had fun without me again. DAMN YOU ALL! X< Everyone was in cosplay again, though Stef had changed from Melissa Mio to Kaname Chidori. When I got into the hall, I was quite releived at how empty the hall seemed compared to the previous day. I went about the stalls and bought some more Pocky and a couple of Joker t-shirts. I also got to the games table and played Street Fighter 4 against another cosplayer. He whupped me. I didn't stay that long this time. There wasn't a whole lot to do that I hadn't done already and I had spent plenty of money, and wasn't eager to spend any more. So I said my goodbyes to Taya and Vaise and made my way home from there. I got home around 4-ish, and what did I do once I got there? Did I relax? Bollocks, did I! My bedroom looked like hell and was in dire need of cleaning, especially the floor which hadn't been vacuumed in literally years! My room is nice and clean now, and I intend to keep it that way. Unfortunately something terrible has happened. My computer no longer works! Typical! You go away for a few days and come back to find your comp has gone to hell! I had decided to turn everything in my room off at the mains before I left, well sadly that seems to have resulted in my motherboard dying. When I turn my PC on, it boots into Windows but only stays in Windows for a few seconds. Then the screen blanks and I can't do anything. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! As a result, i can't upload any of my expo pics. I'm only able to write this because I'm at a net cafe. Sucks to be me.... ;_;
Well, that's about all from me for now. When I get my camera recharged, I'll get my photos uploaded. Till then.... |

Current Mood: Half-awake Current Music: KMFDM - Leid Und Elend
Well, today is the day: my last day working at Wilkinson. Hurrah! :D
It hasn't been the most exciting job in the world but at least it provided me with necessary funding, and I did make a few friends while I was working at the Poole branch. I still haven't really gotten to know my Bournemouth teammates all that well, though really they didn't really make much effort, either. Oh well...
Once I'm done with Wilko, I intend to enjoy my freedom for a few weeks. Now that work isn't tying me down, I might be able to attend some events which are going down this month. I know there's a furmeet taking place in Southampton in a couple of weeks, I can actually go to that now. Another thing I've been meaning to do is contact my mate Ryan. He moved to Portsmouth six months ago and I've hardly heard from him since, I hope he's doing all right. I really miss him.
So there you have it. Of course I will be investigating other avenues of employment during this time, though for the time being it's not high on my priorities list. I've earned this break, and I'm gonna make the best of it. |

Wheee, I had fun last night! I was planning on going to see Wolverine last night but no one wanted to come with me, plus I hadn't heard many good things about it. So out of nowhere, my brother Dark Liquid asks me if I want to guest star on a radio show. Sure, why not?
And so last night, I visited the home of my dear friend Lorcian, who I haven't seen for a long time (even though we live in the same area :P) who hosts his own online radio show. I had a blast, even though I was a bit nervous and probably said one or two really stupid things on air, but still it was all good I thought. You can tune in to Lorcian's show at 8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays on the Gaming Radio Network (Unfortunately their site seems to be down right now, the links all go to some stupid ad advertising poker and porn.)
I might just appear on the show again in the future, who knows? It's something to do on a Monday night anyway. |

Current Mood: Half-awake Current Music: Ayumi Hamasaki - Evolution
Over the past week I have been dealing with what could be my worst anxiety attack yet. It was terrible, I was contemplating suicide so casually and then I'm suddenly gripped by almost paralysing fear. So what do I do? I shut myself away, I hide under my bed covers silently pleading the powers that be to release me from this curse. It's absurd, I don't want to die and especially not by my own hand, but when I get like this I feel like it's the only way.
I think I know why it's been coming on so strong though. Having settled in to a new job this past week has given me reason to be somewhat nervous. But god damn, not that nervous. Well, I'll be seeing a doctor tomorrow so I'll be sure to tell him all this when I do.
Well, I'm still here, alive and well and completely scar-free in case you're worried. At least I haven't had to endure any gruesome suicidal fantasies in my dreams, which lately have been rather pleasant. In fact, I've recently awoke from one of the most interesting dreams I've ever had. I dreamt that my brother Andy, my mum and I went on holiday to Florida. Now I've never been to the States so I have no idea what any of it looks like, so I reckon what I saw doesn't exist in the real world. Anyway, for some bizarre reason, Andy and I found ourselves travelling by military aircraft carrier. WTF!? Well, the trip was pretty cheap, I guess we had a military discount? :P
Well, it turns out that me and the bro had been drafted and we'd been called in to deal with a terrorist threat to an airport (hence why we were travelling by sea, I guess) and after a very short trip we arrive, only to be greeted by one of my best online friends and fellow furry, Soron (I know what she looks like IRL and yes, her appearance was accurate in this dream). Well, after the warm greeting we walk and talk. Well, Andy and Soron do most of the talking since they haven't met before, not even online, and they get along quite well. We're walking away from the harbour and we're suddenly walking along a clean concrete path next to a sparkling lake, the sun is blazing overhead and there are soldiers charging past us. Luckily they don't seem to care about us and just keep running while me, Andy and Soron are still strolling and chatting. We're walking through some kind of park, which looks like it's been built on some sort of bridge (O.o??). There are fountains built into the floorwork and there are these interesting mosaic patterns on the ground. What's weird is that they heat up when we walk over them and nearly melt our shoes. Well after a while, for reasons which elude me, we decide to stop walking and start crawling on our bellies. I don't know, I'm just as confused as you are! Anyway, we're, um, crawling and we're all listening to my mp3 player which somehow has 4 earphones, two for my ears and one for Soron and Andy (We listen to the song I currently have on repeat right now) and as we press on we pass this little diner. It's nothing fancy and we don't even go in, but there's a little yellow bucket outside which has free candy in it. Oh yes, and as we go by this diner, we see two guys go in carrying a giant candy cable which had to had been as long as a bus. And it was around this point I woke up. Now that really was an awesome dream, and not because of all the weird nonsensical stuff, but hanging out and having fun with Soron and my brother, that's what made it cool. I still wish I could meet her in person some day. It's not all that likely, but then that's what dreams are for. :) |

Current Mood: Anxious Current Music: Avril Lavigne - Fall to Pieces
Things are not going all that well for me at the moment. I'm coming down with something, my anxiety has been flaring up rather badly recently, and my job is in danger.
Since the start of the year, we've had a new CPR system introduced at Wilkinson. Well, this system is about to make several jobs obsolete, and I myself could be made redundant very soon. I should have actually had a meeting about this today with my manager, but he seems to have put it off for whatever reason. Well, tomorrow I should be finding out whether I still have a job or not.
Thing is, I've wanted to get out of this job for a while now. But the problem is if I do leave Wilko, I've got nothing to fall back on. With the country in the grip of a recession, there's not a lot of jobs going anywhere at the moment. I'm afraid that if I get the boot, I won't find another job in time and I'll end up flat broke. What am I gonna do? |

I've not been having a good week. I've been getting rather worried about my mother's health. She recently suffered a mild stroke and last night it happened again. She's in hospital now, I gave them a call and they tell me she's doing okay. That's small comfort though, seeing as nowadays I'm worrying about her constantly. It's horrible watching her do nothing all day other than sit around smoking and watching TV, but that seems to be all she can do any more. It really makes me sad not seeing her try and get out and about, and I feel ashamed too because I haven't been doing anything to help her. I feel like such a terrible son. |

Current Mood: Happy Current Music: Crush 40 - What I'm Made Of
After pondering on the idea for the past week or two, I've decided to buy the 360 again. This time I intend to keep it for a lot longer and buy plenty more games. I've currently got Gears of War 1 & 2, Sonic '06, Halo 3 and Dead Rising. I've got a month's free subscription to Xbox Live so i can enjoy some online multiplayer till then. My gamertag is Devo DrakeFox.
See you out there. :3 |

HOORAYNESS!
I have a new computer! Well, actually it's old, my dad cobbled it together with various parts he's aquired. See, my old computer broke down about two months ago, and since then I've resorted to using my Wii for web-surfing, which is pretty limited on the Wii. No Flash, no downloading, no IMs. But now I am restored to power, muhahahahahaha!!
Well, almost. This computer needs a little work. It has no DVD drive, only a 6gb hard drive and a crappy graphics card. I'll need to salvage some bits from my old machine and install them on this one. But still... YAY! XD |

| A long and uneventful absense |

Well, okay, more long than uneventful. My computer packed in several weeks ago so I haven't been online very much. Occasionally I get online at the library (right now, for instance) or I surf using the Wii Internet Channel, but I can't do all the things I usually like to do, like chat to friends... and download lots of porn :P.
Well, work has been getting more and more hectic due to Christmas, and I seem to be getting in trouble with the bosses more often. Apparently my professional attitude has been suffering the last few months, and I've been threatened with dismissal because I've had several sick periods. I've told them about my anxiety issues (which haven't been quite so bad recently) but they still aren't satisfied. Oh well, even without this my employment at Wilko's may not last much longer anyway. We're introducing a new stock control system soon which is going to make some of us redundant. Well maybe I'll luck out, who knows? Time will tell.
My social life has also been suffering somewhat. Since I commune over the internet most of the time, it really doesn't help when my motherboard burns out. Well, hopefully I shall have a new computer soon, Dad's sending me another of his fix-er-ups, which I'm grateful for. In the meantime, it's been the usual stuff. Spending an awful lot of money on DVDs and books, not keeping my room tidy, and meeting up with the role-playing group every Friday.
I seem to have put on weight in the past month. I'm now 17 stone (thereabouts), and I think I owe it all to those damn chocolate tubes which are on offer at this time of year. Revels, Planets, Jelly Tots... I can't bloody stop myself. Well, it's not quite New Year yet, but my first resolution will be to lose weight. The second will be to give up gambling. I've been blowing more money on fruit machines than ever before these past couple of months. While it's not so much that I'm left bankrupt, it's still an awful lot. I don't know the exact figures, just that it's too much and I need to knock it off.
So there you go. Gamble less, eat less junk food, exercise more, SAVE MONEY! Even without the gambling, I still buy an awful lot of crap. Need to cut that out too. Well, that's all for now. Merry Christmas, everyone! ^^ |

| My First Fur Meet |

Current Music: Asian Kung-Fu Generation - Rewrite Current Mood: Tired
Furfags everywhere! And it's wonderful! XD
Well, today was my very first fur meet. I had been looking forward to this all week, though I think I may have ended up ruining it a little for myself by the end of it. I arrived in Southampton around half eleven and decided to do a bit of window shopping in one or two stores, I'd save the best stores and actual shopping for when Renamix arrived. Anyway, at 1pm I met Rena at the station and we hit the town, mostly just window browsing and general walk-and-talk. Then we reached Menkind in one of the arcades and bumped into another fur, Diego. Seemed like a nice guy, if a bit odd. Anyway, after Diego joined the party we grabbed lunch at Burger King, then resumed scouring the shops.
Now I actually started buying stuff. We went to Forbidden Planet (as I do every time I'm in Southampton) and I bought Strait Jacket and a couple of Batman books. After that, Renamix showed me this cool costume shop where I might be able to get a purple suit so I could dress up as the Joker. I found a suit, but it was tiny, so I didn't bother with fancy dress at all. Then we went to HMV where I bought four Star Trek box sets (£22 each!), then to Starbucks to relax a bit before heading for the cinema. Rena got changed into his gnoll costume while we were at Starbucks. I should've taken a picture, he looks awesome!
After arriving at Odeon we were soon joined one after the other by the rest of the party. We all agreed (except me) on seeing Saw V. I wanted to see Igor, but I wasn't going to see it alone so I got a ticket for Saw V. I shouldn't have bothered really. While I like a fair few violent movies, I'm not into slow, meticulous, agonizing torture which is what the Saw movies are all about. I get worried about my anxiety going off when it comes to seeing that level of violence and I didn't want to be reduced to a nervous wreck in the midst of my first meeting with so many new friends. Anyway, we headed to Sega Park after getting the film tickets where we played all the games we wanted on free play for an hour and a half. I challenged Eeve3 to an air hockey match and kicked her ass >:D, and against my better judgement actually tried out the DDR machine. I did terribly. Never again :P.
Then finally, after Sega Park closed, everyone was ready for the cinema. Everyone but me, anyway. I had had a long day, I was tired, and I really didn't want to see Saw V, it just wasn't my cup of tea. I gave my ticket to one of the furs who we met up with at Sega Park and we all set off for the cinema. I parted from the group at the station after giving out farewell hugs. Sorry I didn't hang about for the duration, everyone. I would've liked to stick around and get to know you all better, I really would have. Hopefully the next time you all get together and I'm able to be there, I'll hang about a bit longer. Special thanks to Renamix for putting up with this drax all day. You're awesome, hun! |
